If you’re more interested in exercise than imbibing all weekend, you’ll want to be at James Island County Park this Saturday for the Hippie Dash 5k fun run/walk, brought to you by Palmetto Goodwill. The Hippie Dash is all about fun, friendship, and supporting a good cause, raising awareness and funding for people with disabilities. Far out dudes, hip chicks, flower children, and funky fidos are invited to don their best 1970s attire as they move and groove their way through a psychedelic 3.1-mile course around James Island County Park. Runners, walkers, children, and pups of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate. Proceeds will help Palmetto Goodwill increase advocacy efforts to evoke change by spreading awareness regarding issues that those with disabilities face on a daily basis, including transportation, housing, and employment.
